Project Brief

The Ministry of Health is implementing Kuunika “Data for Action” project which is a 4-year  program funded by Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) and is implemented through four consortium partners; I-TECH, Baobab Health Trust, Lighthouse Trust, and Luke International Norway. The project aims to strengthen and ensure high quality, routinely-available data and an ingrained culture of data use among health workers and policy makers in the health sector, using HIV as a first use case. The project seeks to ensure uninterrupted availability of drugs; improved identification of HIV positives, linkage to treatment, retention of HIV positives on ART and suppression of viral loads, targeting of resources in high burden areas, monitoring of program performance and use of case-based surveillance to inform program planning.
